Support for ARU students

Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre works closely with the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) Sexual Violence Advocacy (SVA) Service.

The SVA Service offers practical support and advocacy to ARU students who have been subjected to sexual violence of any form, no matter where it took place or who it was perpetrated by.

The SVA Service also supports students who were subjected to historical or child sexual abuse prior to joining ARU.

ARU understands that following experiences of sexual violence, you may need support with your studies. Whether this be support needed around accessing an intermission to take some time away, extra time needed to complete assignments, or support around feeling safe on campus and in any shared physical or virtual spaces. The SVA Service can help advocate on your behalf to access any support that may be available to help you with this, and can support you throughout your time studying at ARU.

They may also be able to help support you in any meetings with the university, and/or accessing any financial support that may be available, or simply to look at any options that may be helpful at this time, or later.

For more information about how the SVA Service can support you, please visit their website.

To self-refer yourself for support with an ARU Sexual Violence Advocate (SVA) please register with the service using their online form and you will be contacted by an SVA within 3 working days to schedule an initial appointment.
