Walk, run, swim, ride or wheel your way to your challenge distance throughout May to help support local women and girls who have been impacted by rape and sexual violence.
With your help, we can ensure no survivor needs to cope alone. Every penny you raise will support our life-changing and life-saving emotional, therapeutic and advocacy support services for local women and girls.
Now that Spring has sprung, it’s the perfect time to get moving and shake off the long, cold Winter of lockdown.
How does it work?
Choose your challenge – 25km, 50km or 100km – then dust off your running shoes and walking boots or get down the local lido and complete your distance however you like best.
You have the whole of May to hit your target distance. You don’t need to “move it” every day if you don’t want, you just need to complete your chosen distance by the end of the month.
You don’t just have to cover the distance one way – break up your runs with a weekend cycle or a family walk in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside. All purposeful moving that allows you to track a distance counts!
We’ll be on hand for encouragement, to cheer you on and we’ve got some fabulous personal trainers to give you some tips to get you over the line.
Please ensure you follow local guidelines and restrictions in line with Government advice so your exercising is COVID-19 safe and legal.
How do I join?
Choose your challenge distance and register with us below. Registration is free, we just ask you do you best to raise a minimum sponsorship of £50 for your challenge.
Everyone gets a t-shirt or running vest and a certificate of completion, so make sure you don’t forget to tell us what size you’d like when registering.
Once you’ve registered, go to our JustGiving campaign to set up your fundraising page and join our Facebook Group so you can chat with the rest of the Move It May team and benefit from our personal trainers’ hints and tips.
Remember – this is a distance challenge so you will need some sort of personal fitness device or pedometer (a smartphone will do it) to track your kilometres covered. We don’t check your distances (we trust you!) but you can link your fitness device to Strava via your JustGiving fundraising page if you’d like to.
