Feminist face coverings
For all our fellow feminists out there, we have the perfect face coverings for you! Handmade by our amazing volunteer Anna we have a limited edition of some rather fabulous face coverings made with beautiful feminist-themed fabric.
Neutral face coverings
If you prefer something a little plainer or more neutral, we also have a variety of plain and floral face coverings, both flat and shaped designs. Again, these are handmade by Anna.
The face coverings are made of cotton and/or silk and come in flat and shaped designs, are fully lined with white adjustable ear elastic. They are machine washable (except the silk) and please pre-wash before using.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These are not intended for medical use. They are made with non-medical grade fabric and are do not meet the definition of a medical face mask required by European accreditation EN14683:2019 + AC:2019. They are community face coverings that can be used in as part of the government’s COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a very limited run with small quantities of some designs but we’re hoping to make more. Therefore, please be patient if we haven’t managed to remove a design before you make your order. Our online shop isn’t that sophisticated! If the design you purchase is gone, we will ask you if you would like another one, alternatively we will fully refund you.
Coping with wearing a face covering as a survivor
We know that wearing a face mask/covering can cause trauma for some survivors and want to recognise that wearing a face covering just isn’t possible for some women.
If you are wanting to wear a face covering but are struggling with it, our sister centre OSARCC have compiled a list of ways in which some survivors have found it possible to wear face coverings which may be helpful and is available on their website here.
Please remember we are here to listen to and support you and you can find a list of our support services here.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Spoonflower and the amazing women designers who have so kindly allowed us to use their fabrics for our face coverings and offered us an amazing discount. We will give you the name and details of each designer for the four fabric designs so do check out their other work!
Feminist face coverings
These are made with four different feminist fabrics, all from incredible women designers through Spoonflower.
Each mask has printed feminist fabric on the outer layer (100% cotton) and is lined with a neutral/floral cotton or silk fabric. The lining fabric is donated to us so we can’t be more specific. They come as flat or shaped designs with white adjustable ear elastic. All the masks are one size.
