Time: 7.30pm to 9.30pm
Place: Online via Zoom
Tickets: £5 per screen (plus booking fee)
Teams: You can play solo or as a team of up to eight people – whichever you prefer!

As we all start to ease out of lockdown, the fabulous CRCC Volunteer Fundraising Group bring you a night of fun to test your general knowledge with their Big Feminist Quiz. You don’t have to be a woman or a feminist to take part but it would probably give you a bit of an edge!

It’s a family-friendly quiz but aimed at adults and hosted by our fabulous quizmistress, Wendy.

All you need to take part is a computer/tablet/smartphone and maybe a pen and printer.

So get your thinking caps on and help raise vital funds for Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre!

How does it work?

To join, you just need to buy a ticket for each screen (i.e. computer or tablet) that you will be using to join the quiz. You can have multiple people around that screen but if you’re in team with members across different households, you’ll need to buy one ticket for each screen you use to join us.

Once you buy your tickets, you’ll receive confirmation email and then a member of the fundraising team will get in touch with further details about the night.

How do I join on the night?

You will receive the Zoom link, password and score sheets via email 24 hours before the quiz. Please check your junk/spam folders to make sure you’ve received it!

On the night, the waiting room will open half an hour before (7pm) and then the quiz will start at 7.30pm sharp. Quizmistress Wendy will take you through the format and then the quizzing begins!

What will I need?

You will need a computer or tablet to join us via Zoom.

We don’t recommend using a smartphone as there is a display during the quiz and it will probably be difficult to read on a small screen (unless you can cast it to a TV or similar) – however, all the questions are also read out so if you only have a smartphone it shouldn’t prove too problematic.

You will also need a pen to complete your score sheets as you go along and you’ll need a printer to print the sheets off. Alternatively, you can complete the sheets digitally.

If it’s your first time using Zoom, you’ll need to set up a free account first in order to join us so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time on the night. You’ll need an email address to join and it only takes a few minutes –

Part of a team?

If you are part of a team, all members will need to join via the Zoom link so make sure you have a ticket for each screen. You can confer between yourselves via text/WhatsApp/Skype during the event but nominate one person to be your team contact to submit your scores to us.

Don’t forget to think of your team name before the event!

Problems or queries?

If you have any queries before or during the quiz, please email us at and we can help you. During the quiz you can also use the chat function to contact us for support.

How does my money help?

All proceeds go to Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre and help us to support even more local women and girls affected by sexual violence.

In these uncertain times, the pandemic is causing anxiety and concern for many, not least of all those processing trauma and living with the impacts of sexual violence and abuse.

We continue to work hard to safely deliver our much-needed specialist support services and survivors asking for immediate support are describing a number of impacts they are struggling to deal with during these challenging times including:

  • Increased PTSD and OCD symptoms
  • Re-traumatisation caused by lockdown – a sense of loss of control and lack of freedom of movement triggering trauma of abuse
  • Sleep problems, nightmares and flashbacks
  • Acute social isolation
  • Having to spend lockdown in the space where the abuse took place
  • Living in an unsafe situation with an abuser
  • Extreme distress caused by the postponement and cancellation of trials for those survivors who have been waiting, often for many years, to have their case go to court.

Our message to survivors during this difficult time is that you are not alone, we are here for you whenever you need us. Your continued support will help us to stay true to that message and develop new services to meet the needs of survivors – such as an online chat service and virtual peer support groups – during and after the pandemic.
